The bedroom is the most important room in the house. It is also the most important room for a person because we spend a third of our lives in sleeping. The bed is the core feature of any bedroom. It must be placed just right to get a good sleep because when sleep we tend to absorb the energies around us.
The position of the bed is very important according to Feng Shui. The bed affects a person’s health and well-being. The bed must be placed in the power position.
The power position is the corner diagonally opposite to the bedroom door. A person must be able to see the door so that they are not taken by surprise when somebody enters the door. By sleeping in this position the person will also feel protected. Also this way maximum room would be visible, leaving little for surprise.
Here are a few pointers to keep in mind while placing your bed:

- Replace the bed after someone has died
- New bed should be brought after a relationship or a marriage has ended
- Newly married people should get a single mattress instead of two single ones
- The headboard of the bed should not share the same wall as the toilet
- The bed holds the energy of the person who has slept in it, so it is a good idea to change the bedding in case it feels negative
- Do not store junk under the bed
- Never store shoes under the bed as they will cause a disturbed sleep
- The bedding must not be very loud as it will hamper a sound sleep
